Albert Krewinkel bfb3118ebb Lua tests: remove roundtrip tests
Property tests that roundtrip elements through the Lua stack are
performed in the test-suite of the pandoc-lua-marshal package. No need
to test this here as well.

Albert Krewinkel 3692a1d1e8 Lua: use package pandoc-lua-marshal (#7719)
The marshaling functions for pandoc's AST are extracted into a separate
package. The package comes with a number of changes:

  - Pandoc's List module was rewritten in C, thereby improving error
    messages.

  - Lists of `Block` and `Inline` elements are marshaled using the new
list types `Blocks` and `Inlines`, respectively. These types
currently behave identical to the generic List type, but give better
error messages. This also opens up the possibility of adding
element-specific methods to these lists in the future.

  - Elements of type `MetaValue` are no longer pushed as values which
have `.t` and `.tag` properties. This was already true for
`MetaString` and `MetaBool` values, which are still marshaled as Lua
strings and booleans, respectively. Affected values:

      + `MetaBlocks` values are marshaled as a `Blocks` list;

      + `MetaInlines` values are marshaled as a `Inlines` list;

+ `MetaList` values are marshaled as a generic pandoc `List`s.

+ `MetaMap` values are marshaled as plain tables and no longer
        given any metatable.

  - The test suite for marshaled objects and their constructors has
    been extended and improved.

  - A bug in Citation objects, where setting a citation's suffix
modified it's prefix, has been fixed.

Albert Krewinkel cd91f72843 Lua: set lpeg, re as globals; allow shared lib access via require
The `lpeg` and `re` modules are loaded into globals of the respective
name, but they are not necessarily registered as loaded packages. This
ensures that

- the built-in library versions are preferred when setting the globals,
- a shared library is used if pandoc has been compiled without `lpeg`,
  and
- the `require` mechanism can be used to load the shared library if
available, falling back to the internal version if possible and
  necessary.

Albert Krewinkel 8523bb01b2 Lua: marshal Attr values as userdata
- Adds a new `pandoc.AttributeList()` constructor, which creates the
associative attribute list that is used as the third component of
`Attr` values. Values of this type can often be passed to constructors
  instead of `Attr` values.

- `AttributeList` values can no longer be indexed numerically.

Albert Krewinkel 9e74826ba9 Switch to hslua-2.0
The new HsLua version takes a somewhat different approach to marshalling
and unmarshalling, relying less on typeclasses and more on specialized
types. This allows for better performance and improved error messages.

Furthermore, new abstractions allow to document the code and exposed
functions.

Albert Krewinkel fb54f3d679 API change: use PandocError for exceptions in Lua subsystem
The PandocError type is used throughout the Lua subsystem, all Lua
functions throw an exception of this type if an error occurs. The
`LuaException` type is removed and no longer exported from
`Text.Pandoc.Lua`. In its place, a new constructor `PandocLuaError` is
added to PandocError.

Albert Krewinkel 672a4bdd1d Lua filters: allow filtering of element lists (#6040)
Lists of Inline and Block elements can now be filtered via `Inlines` and
`Blocks` functions, respectively. This is helpful if a filter conversion
depends on the order of elements rather than a single element.

For example, the following filter can be used to remove all spaces
before a citation:

    function isSpaceBeforeCite (spc, cite)
return spc and spc.t == 'Space'
and cite and cite.t == 'Cite'
    end

    function Inlines (inlines)
      for i = #inlines-1,1,-1 do
        if isSpaceBeforeCite(inlines[i], inlines[i+1]) then
          inlines:remove(i)
        end
      end
      return inlines
    end

Closes: #6038

despresc 90e436d496 Switch to new pandoc-types and use Text instead of String [API change].
PR #5884.

+ Use pandoc-types 1.20 and texmath 0.12.
+ Text is now used instead of String, with a few exceptions.
+ In the MediaBag module, some of the types using Strings
were switched to use FilePath instead (not Text).
+ In the Parsing module, new parsers `manyChar`, `many1Char`,
  `manyTillChar`, `many1TillChar`, `many1Till`, `manyUntil`,
`mantyUntilChar` have been added: these are like their
unsuffixed counterparts but pack some or all of their output.
+ `glob` in Text.Pandoc.Class still takes String since it seems
to be intended as an interface to Glob, which uses strings.
It seems to be used only once in the package, in the EPUB writer,
so that is not hard to change.

Albert Krewinkel 505f5bf5d9 Lua: add Version type to simplify comparisons
Version specifiers like `PANDOC_VERSION` and `PANDOC_API_VERSION` are
turned into `Version` objects. The objects simplify version-appropriate
comparisons while maintaining backward-compatibility.

A function `pandoc.types.Version` is added as part of the newly
introduced module `pandoc.types`, allowing users to create version
objects in scripts.

in test output. Failures are reported with helpful error messages.

or

    pandoc.system.with_temporary_directory('tikz', function (dir)
-- write and compile a TikZ file with pdflatex
