Dark mode's hover color, #2a2a2a, was 1.05:1 against the #262626 cards and #252525 sidebar, so hovering a notification or sidebar item and pressing a touch-menu or drawer item showed next to nothing. #333 sits as far off them as light mode's hover sits off white, and stays below the selected item's #3d3d3d.
