Share release JSON decoding, vendor fields and package integrity checks across macOS setup and Linux publishing/cache reads. Reject malformed UTF-8 instead of repairing macOS metadata, retain established initial BOM tolerance, and preserve complete vendor rows through admission and cache retention. Keep platform channel, signature, installation and cleanup policies unchanged.
Validation: 134 focused tests passed with 21 platform skips; typecheck and lint passed. Linux-only signed-cache cases were updated but skipped on the macOS host. No live Hopper installation performed.
* fix(setup): report host-owned cleanup resources alongside the primary's
SetupHost.close documents that it reports the resources a setup host still
owns, but its contract returned only a string. runSetup therefore built the
ProviderCleanupError from the primary failure's cleanupResources alone, so a
resource the host failed to release reached the projection only inside a
free-text reason while the error asks the caller to review the reported local
resources.
Return a SetupCloseReport instead. closeSetupResources absorbs the structured
resources of any cause that reports them, through
ArtifactReaderFailure.cleanupObservation, and leaves opaque failures
message-only so no resource name is invented. runSetup then unions the host's
resources with the primary's before building the typed cleanup error.
Two boundary tests read the close result directly: the skill-cleanup case now
asserts the retained backup path in the report reason rather than in a bare
string, and the shared ownership helper takes an opaque close result because it
only ever awaits undefined from either host it is given.
Validation: RED then green in src/application/Setup.recovery.test.ts, where
the new case previously received only the primary resource; 116 tests across
the seven Setup and cleanup-ownership suites pass; tsc --noEmit over the
changed set, its setup callers, and both boundary tests exits 0; oxlint
reports 0 errors; oxfmt --check is clean; verify:module-boundaries passes.
The two failures in src/setupEnvironment.test.ts reproduce identically on
pristine bded9c628 with this change stashed.

* fix(hopper): keep macOS and Linux launcher paths POSIX
* fix(hopper): keep Linux and macOS bundle paths POSIX
Linux package archives and macOS app-bundle launcher paths describe the target host, not the host running the test. Build them with path.posix so exercising these installers from Windows produces the same paths as the target platform.
* fix(electron): follow Windows symlink targets with native separators
readlink returns backslash-separated targets on Windows. Splitting only on '/' kept a whole relative target as one component, so nested links were not followed and a relative target could pass the framework-root check without being walked. Split on both separators on Windows and add a regression for an escaping target.
* test(windows): align host-specific path and lifecycle expectations
Compare generated skill and provider-command paths with native joins, bind ADB device-path validation to an explicit platform, and prepare simulated POSIX Ghidra install roots on Windows. Skip POSIX-only Hopper lease, permission-bit, and symlink-parent cases, assert Windows' unsupported Hopper state instead, and cover the Windows Ghidra native-source admission step before snapshot replay. Launch Node child seams with SystemRoot available and expect Windows close-failure resource retention.
* test(windows): close review coverage gaps

Centralize canonical system/user and deterministic renamed-bundle path facts. Reuse the installer destination and honor the same local candidates in doctor and runtime; scan renamed bundles only after canonical candidates fail. Preserve explicit path spelling and exclusive selection. Homebrew command probing remains doctor-only with explicit runtime configuration guidance.
Validation: owner, config, setup and doctor tests cover canonical priority and renamed paths; public CLI verifies explicit path preservation without launching Hopper. No real Hopper analysis claimed.

Verify the native helper's sealed identifier and pinned Apple signing team in BridgeLauncher, then carry that provenance to HopperClient. Only a verified native helper's complete not-found exit confirms no document handoff, allowing runtime and target-lease cleanup and retry; wrappers retain unknown document state.
Share publisher identity with setup through the domain contract. Correct fixture teardown ordering and parameterized MCP coverage. Validation: 54 focused tests passed across boundary, CLI, MCP acceptance, diagnostics and installer coverage (one Linux-only case skipped); check:fast passed. Real codesign verification accepted the installed official Hopper helper; Spotlight failures and bridge recovery used process fixtures.
The macOS installer accepted any bundle that passed `codesign --verify`
and whose `Info.plist` said `com.cryptic-apps.hopper-web-4`. An ad-hoc
signed bundle with that identifier satisfies both, so a substituted DMG
could be copied to ~/Applications and launched.
Verify a pinned code requirement instead, covering the sealed bundle
identifier and the signing team together, and report a distinct
`publisher_verification_failed` code so a vendor key change is not
confused with a corrupt package.
Deliver complete Evidence directly through MCP with required nullable analysis profiles and immutable per-server delivery settings. Bind selected environments at construction and require typed cleanup outcomes with retained retry ownership.
Remove test-only routing, duplicate session and snapshot metadata, producer-field repairs, and ambiguous provider arguments. Separate artifact byte identity from occurrence classification and retain typed source-map and partial native facts across CLI, MCP, and verifier consumers.
BREAKING CHANGE: obsolete Evidence envelopes, session aliases, incomplete snapshots, and missing normalized producer facts are no longer accepted.
* refactor(domain): split error taxonomy into thematic modules
Move each error family out of domain/errors.ts into its own module
(base, core, provider selection/adapter, browser observation,
artifact, evidence, unknown registry, hopper, configuration) and
relocate AnalysisErrorProjection to analysisErrorProjection.
Migrate all 162 importers to the owning modules and delete
errors.ts. No re-export shims; behavior is unchanged.
* refactor(runtime): name all silent catch causes without changing diagnostics
Bind cause in every bare catch and unhandled rejection across src/.
Real failures preserve the cause for logging; best-effort cleanup
carries an explicit comment. Caller-visible and Evidence strings are
byte-identical to before.
