* fix(javascript): resolve module-relative Worker URL references
* fix(javascript): validate Worker URL paths independently of suffixes
* fix(javascript): preserve directory-form Worker URL paths
* fix(javascript): unwrap type assertions in Worker URL references
* fix(javascript): validate Worker bindings before URL resolution
* fix(javascript): leave drive-letter Worker URLs unresolved
Use WHATWG file URL parsing before pathname decoding to detect drive-letter
forms whose resource identity depends on the unmodeled source URL scheme.
Preserve encoded and ordinary relative pipe paths, and cover false matches
through the compiled CLI and resolver boundary tests.
* fix(javascript): preserve Worker URL identity boundaries
Recognize known Worker bindings before filtering callee spellings so ESM
aliases and transparent constructor wrappers reach URL analysis. Keep
root-relative module URLs unknown without a modeled runtime base root.
Index direct source-local global writes with the shared mutation collector
before promoting URL and browser Worker constructors. Preserve lexical
shadowing and unrelated property identities, and exercise all three review
regressions through the compiled CLI.
* fix(javascript): invalidate mutated import.meta URL bases
Track source-local import.meta writes alongside ambient global writes so
Worker URL expressions keep an unknown base after a possible URL mutation.
Tag the identity roots independently and cover direct mutation and unrelated
property cases through the compiled CLI.
* fix(javascript): close Worker URL identity and pathname gaps
Resolve ambient object identities before appending written properties, and
retain possible source-local aliases across rebinding. Reuse intrinsic
invocation handling for aliased and bound mutators, array spreads, and
transparent TypeScript wrappers while preserving Electron write semantics.
Keep malformed-percent nested Worker URL pathnames unknown because the base
scheme is unavailable and Node rejects these file URLs. Preserve tolerant
HTML URL handling, valid escapes, and query/fragment evidence.
Cover the new cases and unrelated writes through the compiled CLI with
existing-file decoys. All 591 targeted tests and npm run check pass.
* fix(javascript): bound alias expansion and classify Worker paths
Join ambient identity projections instead of enumerating alias histories.
Memoize repeated value and provenance queries while preserving capture,
depth, and cycle-dependent uncertainty.
Keep Node Worker string arguments unresolved without filesystem or cwd
context, and admit qualified global URL constructors through identity checks.
Validate three 40-level alias branch shapes through the compiled CLI,
925 source tests, 25 CLI/boundary tests, and the full npm run check gate.
* fix(server): preserve partial Evidence target-content provenance
Pass the exact named contract returnsTargetContent flag through the shared partial-Evidence error delivery path introduced by the shortlist integration.
Exercise successful and failed recording through in-memory MCP for marked and unmarked contracts, preserving source payload and original failures. Observe both shared-handler emission and wire delivery so the SDK error-marker fallback cannot hide omissions. Suppressing the flag fails exactly the two marked cases.
Validation: check:fast, check, 736 semantic tests, 29 MCP transport/error tests and six compiled static Worker CLI journeys pass. No live target/provider execution or hosted publication.
* fix(javascript): structurally share semantic dependency proofs

Resolve each caller-selected Electron path once at the application boundary, collect field-specific failures with original causes, and pass canonical paths directly to the provider. Update direct provider consumers and route the real verifier through the shared application workflow.
Validation: public CLI/MCP invalid-path acceptance, canonicalization boundary, provider tests, and cancellation/cleanup checks. Live Electron launch was not verified. This does not address the separate Playwright launch-rejection crash in #2269.
Fixes#2272
Share loader selection across static findings and module relationships: CTS static imports and re-exports use CommonJS lookup while dynamic imports retain ESM lookup. Retain runtime import-equals dependencies, bindings, and exported names; do not resolve require file-URL strings as local artifacts. Restore import-map descriptions in CLI help.
Validated resolver and semantic tests, application reconstruction boundaries, and CLI help. Installed TypeScript NodeNext emission and Node require behavior were checked independently. Refs #2056, #2057, #2058, #2053.
Require a package directory for bare ESM imports. Continue CommonJS root and subpath lookup through ancestor packages after ordinary misses, while keeping exports authority, unavailable metadata, and failed nonempty main entrypoints terminal.
Carry failed-main ownership in the internal resolution result and retain the nearest local miss after exhausting ancestors. Consolidate package selection at its owning boundary and qualify loader differences with real Node 24, CLI, and MCP regressions.
Accept absent map-level sourcesContent and preserve null source-name slots alongside known originals and aligned content. Represent unnamed local declarations explicitly, retain leaf-local and flattened indices, and preserve declared indexed-section order across consumers.
Account for added indices before browser output allocation. Accept legacy retained rows without indices. Consolidate public CLI/MCP source-map fixtures and update the stale named-source-only assertion.
BREAKING CHANGE: Browser source-map original and mapping rows expose null for unavailable source names instead of inventing an unknown-source string. New index fields are optional when reading older retained evidence.

Keep relative ESM imports exact, restrict Node legacy probes to .js/.json/.node, and treat empty package main as absent. Stop Node package-main lookup before nested package reinterpretation, while retaining generic artifact inference.
Replace stale recursive and .cjs probe expectations. Verify CLI and MCP graph results against real Node 24 runtime controls, including exact suffixes, index fallback, and nested package main refusal.

Keep direct empty bridge objects observed, reject unexecuted initializers,
invalidate modified bootstrap tables and Electron identities, and retain
selection predicates through symbolic values and wrapper paths. Track lexical
binding identity and completed activation boundaries without leaking analysis
order into earlier reads.
Separate wrapper invocation provenance from the underlying IPC source range
so repeated registrations remain ambiguous through transfer and graph joins.
Use the same offered transfer budget for module preflight and final writing.
Index static literal properties once instead of rescanning every member. Keep
the original 10,001-member capacity fixture; Flameox confirmed the repeated
lookup cost and the optimized fixture completes in under one second locally.
Prune the stale compact-schema tool inventory assertion and update the public
call-graph registration expectation to its declared result envelope.
Validation: build, check, docs:check, 83 focused tests, 10 Electron identity
acceptance cases, 2 full-scale finding-capacity cases, and 7 compact-schema
transport tests. No real Electron runtime execution is claimed.
Give atomic Evidence and snapshot writes an explicit resource owner, preserve primary failures and completed publication receipts, and retry retained staging cleanup at the owning lifecycle. Verify inode identity before publishing or deleting; unknown path disappearance remains a cleanup failure. Keep snapshot admission reusable when a session closes and reopens.
Consolidate JavaScript source-scope classification so cancellation cannot fabricate failures for unselected files. Classify configuration failures as invalid input. Remove stale assertions and reuse shared test cleanup ownership.
Validation: 266 focused tests before final ownership tightening, 108 affected tests afterward, static and documentation checks, actual invalid-configuration CLI behavior, and isolated test temporary-directory hygiene.

Pass typed map objects into the codec and reuse validated TraceMap instances for regular and indexed lookups. Remove whole-map serialization, duplicate leaf decoding, an array-copy wrapper, and the unused offset-validation mode in artifact declaration collection.
Validation: source-map and browser consumer suites (126 tests), declaration tests, and artifact reconstruction boundaries pass. Section overlap checks and raw source declarations remain intact.
Analyze exact selected sources in first-request order before unrelated
static scopes, preserving full artifact identity and byte verification.
Retain selection in CLI/MCP Evidence and summaries, with explicit unknowns
and partial coverage for unselected sources. Keep default full analysis.

* feat(javascript): recover code-split bundles from multiple inputs
recover_javascript_sources accepted a single path, and
validateModuleSet bound every module's provenance to that one snapshot.
A code-split app (runtime + chunks, or an Electron main/preload/renderer
set) had to be recovered one file per call, and modules recovered alone
could not resolve imports across chunks: cross-chunk require(id)
references stayed as numeric ids with property reads.
Add an optional additional_paths input. The listed files are
concatenated, in order after path, into the single engine snapshot, so
one Wakaru run sees every module and cross-chunk imports resolve.
validateModuleSet's single-snapshot binding is unchanged. Module
provenance is attributed back to the input file its first extraction
range starts in, with byte ranges rebased to that file's own offsets;
a module whose ranges cross an input boundary keeps the concatenated
snapshot identity and offsets, recorded as an explicit limitation.
Single-path behavior is byte-for-byte unchanged (one segment,
offset 0).

* fix(build): emit no runtime imports for type-only bindings
Under verbatimModuleSyntax, an import whose specifiers all carry inline
`type` modifiers compiles to `import {} from "..."`, a side-effect import
that still resolves and evaluates the module. 78 compiled modules carried
one, including `import {} from "playwright-core"` in the browser scenario
session, which loaded Playwright's module graph at MCP startup.
Use top-level `import type` for these bindings and enable oxlint's
typescript/no-import-type-side-effects rule so the pattern cannot return.

* perf(mcp): load Playwright when a scenario launches, not at startup
The browser scenario and Electron active providers are constructed before
the stdio server serves, and both bound Playwright's launchers at module
load. Resolve `chromium` and `_electron` from playwright-core when a
capture opens instead, as the web module resolver already does.
MCP startup now resolves 1,312 modules (4,902 resolutions) instead of
1,598 (6,076) before reading the first request, and no longer loads
playwright-core. Provider construction, the tool catalog, and capability
inventory are unchanged.
A boundary test spawns the stdio server, initializes, lists tools, and
asserts playwright-core and isomorphic-git were not resolved; the CLI
probe now exercises the real launch path to prove detection.

Build package, JSON-module and source-map indexes once instead of rescanning every observation list per file. Preserve first-observation lookup semantics when paths repeat and share each JSON lookup with the file projection.
Validation: duplicate-observation consumer regression and reconstruction suites. Flameox captured before/after CPU profiles on 3,000 JSON files; the complete CLI output stayed byte-identical. Exploratory samples do not establish an end-to-end timing improvement.
Require the caller artifact resource scope when reading JavaScript artifacts. Transfer failed nested ASAR cleanup to that scope so later work retries the same owner before admission. Preserve traversal failures and attempt every remaining iterator during unwind.
Validation: reconstruction, integrity, content identity, cancellation and nested-reader cleanup boundary checks.
BREAKING CHANGE: readJavaScriptArtifactFiles now requires ArtifactResourceScope as its third argument; the optional abort signal is fourth.
Keep failed reader, root descriptor, and output-tree cleanup with the caller. Drain admitted work before close, retry the same retained owners, and block new resource work while cleanup is incomplete. Preserve primary failures and complete inventory observations.
Thread ownership through JavaScript reconstruction, the CLI's one-shot scope, MCP server shutdown, verifier scripts, and test fixtures. Remove redundant ownership flags and the unused validated test wrapper.
Validate with 850 passing focused tests across 90 suites (two skipped), targeted classification and cleanup retries, static and unused-code checks, and real macOS CLI/MCP directory, ZIP, and DMG workflows. Native Windows and deep-analysis providers were not verified.
BREAKING CHANGE: Direct artifact inventory/extraction and JavaScript analysis APIs require an explicit caller-owned ArtifactResourceScope. CLI and MCP input contracts are unchanged.
Pass typed workflow results directly to createEvidence, which validates generic JSON and takes the owned snapshot. Remove the extra generic parse and full result clone from all five workflow helpers; domain producers retain their specific schema validation.
Flameox confirmed JSON validation and copying costs. Alternating warm runs creating Evidence for a valid 2,001-node trace reduced median boundary time from 15.94 ms to 11.20 ms over 120 samples per variant, with identical output digests and independent mutable-input snapshots. This does not measure end-to-end workflow latency.
Validation: 39 focused CLI, SDK MCP and filesystem workflow tests and 17 Evidence tests passed; build, static and documentation checks passed. No deep analysis providers were exercised for this change.
Remove the empty application-node index from incremental projection state. The completed application graph now owns the only binding pass, and indexing returns the map directly instead of a wrapper.
Validation: 76 builder/composition tests and 19 filesystem, CLI-output, and SDK MCP trace boundary tests pass. Identity budgets and streaming/full-projection parity remain covered; no throughput improvement is claimed.
Detach cancelled CDP sessions within the cleanup budget and retain event-finalization failures across retries. Honor Git filesystem encodings and exclude the promise-API probe from source-read failures.
Align existing integration regressions with retained process resources, filesystem-order-independent truncation, owned skill files, explicit native access facts and streamed JSON errors.
Validation: 132 acceptance tests passed (2 skipped), 83 affected boundary tests passed, Git/JSON/CLI boundary regressions passed, check:ci, docs:check and test discovery passed. Local verification used Node 24.18.0 on macOS; cross-platform CI remains pending.
* fix(electron): resolve pages served from inside app.asar
Packaged Electron applications load their renderer pages from file URLs
inside app.asar. The host filesystem cannot stat those paths, so
list_electron_targets excluded every such page as unsupported_url and
inspect_electron_page could not select it.
Resolve these URLs the way Electron's file protocol does: the first .asar
path component that is a regular file is the archive, and the remainder
must name a regular file in its header. Directories, links, and missing
members stay rejected. Parsed headers are cached by archive identity.
* fix(artifacts): extract and explain rewritten ASAR unpacked companions
Packaging tools commonly sign or strip .asar.unpacked native binaries after
writing the archive header, so their declared hashes no longer match.
analyze_javascript_application already accepts integrity_policy, but
extract_artifact did not, and inspect_artifact and extract_artifact still
told callers to "get a fresh copy", which cannot help for a shipped app.
- Accept integrity_policy on extract_artifact (MCP and CLI). The default
still fails closed; record-and-continue writes the observed bytes and
returns the extracted files' integrity_contradictions records.
- Name the unpacked entry and the post-packaging cause in integrity
failures, and point every operation that accepts integrity_policy at
record-and-continue.
- Report an active unpacked entry whose companion file is absent as
unavailable with its logical path instead of a format failure.
- Share one integrity_policy schema across the inventory, extraction, and
JavaScript application inputs.
* fix(electron): bound ASAR headers before allocation

* fix(javascript): resolve exact package export subpaths
Bare module specifiers with subpaths now resolve against the selected
package's exports map instead of staying external. An exact subpath key
selects its target through the existing condition, array, and null
semantics, and the selected target resolves as one exact file with no
extension or index fallback. A declared exports map encapsulates every
other subpath lookup, and packages without an exports map keep legacy
file and directory-index resolution.
Package-private import aliases remain external pending a separate
increment (#1365).
Verification: npm run check:fast; focused and full
src/application/javascript source tests on Windows;
verify:test-discovery; docs:check. Four pre-existing failures in
JavaScriptFileUrlPaths and JavaScriptModuleSpecifierPaths reproduce on
unmodified main on Windows because their fixtures write file names
containing '?'.

After #1542 the longest event-loop blocks on large bundles were single AST
traversals inside one analyzer: member-mutation collection with its
fixpoint, static source analysis, and function fingerprints, each about
one second on Obsidian's 3.7 MB app.js.
- traverseJavaScriptAstSteps yields every 1,024 visited nodes with the
same visit order; traverseJavaScriptAst drains it, so every existing
caller is unchanged.
- Member mutations, static analysis and fingerprints run as steps. The
member-mutation fixpoint yields every 64 references, and fingerprints
yield between callables.
- The now-unused synchronous member-mutation and fingerprint wrappers are
removed.
Graph IDs and complete result digests match main on three inputs,
including obsidian.asar. Over two runs there, the longest block falls
from about 920 ms to 740 ms, the second from 860 to 595 ms, and blocks
over 250 ms from 27 to 18, with total time within 1.5%.

* fix(javascript): yield inside semantic analysis and large projection passes
After #1525 the longest event-loop blocks were single stages on very large
files: semantic analysis of Obsidian's 3.7 MB app.js ran 5.8 s in one piece,
and its object projection 1.8 s.
- analyzeParsedJavaScriptSemanticsSteps yields between the analysis phases
and between the eight derived collectors; the synchronous function drains
it, so results are unchanged.
- Per-file analysis yields between open-receiver classification and static
analysis and drives the semantic steps.
- Semantic node creation, definitions and references, and the object and
frontier passes yield every 64 items. Node creation keeps source order,
which the per-file node budget depends on.
On obsidian.asar the longest block falls from 5,355 ms to 907 ms with the
same total time (40.6 s to 39.5 s). Graph IDs and complete result digests
match main on five inputs. Remaining blocks up to about 0.9 s are single
AST traversal passes inside the analyzers.

* refactor(javascript): drop the unused synchronous derived-semantics wrapper

analyze_javascript_application ran several long phases with no event-loop
turn, so MCP ping and cancellation waited: each file's parse, analysis and
semantic projection; building every application node and relationship
before the application graph's first sealing step; and whole-graph schema
parses inside both immutable graph factories.
- Each file runs as steps (parse, static analysis, semantic analysis, then
each projection pass), driven by the existing time-sliced checkpoint.
- Application graph input construction yields between phases, per module
link and per file of findings.
- The pipeline transfers its privately built graph inputs to new sealing
steps that validate the graph's own fields synchronously and elements,
content checks and the digest in steps. The public copying factories
keep their synchronous capture.
Results are unchanged: graph IDs and the complete result digest match main
on five inputs including Obsidian's 23 MB obsidian.asar. On the issue's
1,200-function fixture the longest event-loop block falls from about
290 ms to 90 ms, and ping after abort from up to 286 ms to at most 56 ms.
On obsidian.asar it falls from 10.9 s to 5.4 s; the rest is one analyzer
stage of a single very large file.

* fix: bind identity and coverage to the producing rule
Logical paths, container families, examined bytes, path-segment conventions, destination collisions, file-id leases, Mach-O CPU selection, and firmware cleanup now follow the observation that owns each rule.
* fix: fail unmatched Mach-O slices and keep firmware roots independent
A fat target whose architecture lipo did not list now stops before slice tools run. Chained fixups still count unread LC_DYLD_INFO rebase bytes, and a firmware cleanup failure no longer blocks the next workspace.
* test: cover path identity and runtime families at the projection boundary
NFC joins and segment conventions are now asserted by the path resolver, the Apple projection, and a real APK inventory instead of helper unit tests.
* test: expect unread dyld rebase bytes in the Apple dispatch fixture
The legacy LC_DYLD_INFO fixture keeps a rebase range this reader does not decode, so the public CLI and MCP check now requires that partial coverage beside the bind opcodes.
